Here is a quick overview of of my Road trip around the south Of Argentina. Even though my flights were 8 weeks apart, I still drove 24 days all in all, but it didn’t feel that much while going through it.
The longest run I did was 7 days driving in a row (would could have been only 6 if i didn’t ended up stuck in the middle of nowhere waiting for a gas-station to be refilled). I did this in order to go as fast as I could to Ushuaïa through the East coast in order to reach the Andes as soon as possible and take my time on the way up. I had to to do this as this was the only way for me to enjoy the freedom of having my own car for a good price. And to achieve it, i had to take my car and drop it back at the same place. For the 2 months, the car rental was about 1700 Euros. Without dropping it at the same place I took it from, the price would have been even more than twice the original price and I would have to add a 800 euros flight ticket from Buenos Aires to Ushuaïa to the bill… And that would have prevent me from discovering the Coast and even tho I “rushed” it a bit, this was still an amazing journey.
I left Buenos Aires and the summer time (30°c; hot sea to dive in), and saw the temperature of both the air and sea water going down really fast… to the point that on the 4th evening i could not dive in the sea anymore, and reached Rio Grande by -3°c 7 days after leaving Buenos Aires.
